Shannon Knapp, founder of Horse Sense of the Carolinas and Heart of Horse Sense, and Ateeka Contee, therapist, educator, and co-founder of MindFull Healing Collective, invite you to join Stable Emotions—a three-day restorative intensive designed to bring renewal, repair, and reconnection.
This immersive program offers space to slow down, learn, and restore in the presence of horses and the natural world. Whether you are a clinician, healing professional, or someone drawn to equine and nature-informed practices for your own growth, this experience provides both professional tools and personal restoration.
Grounded in trauma-informed practice, each day blends guided equine experiences, nature-based reflection, and integrative learning circles. The program fulfills six APA-approved learning objectives, making it possible for professionals to earn 18 Continuing Education Units, while also welcoming community members seeking healing and renewal.
This course will include:
Foundational principles and ethical practices of equine therapy
The benefits of non-riding, trauma-informed equine experiences for emotional regulation
Practical methods for integrating equine and nature-informed approaches into practice and daily life
Collaborative models between the therapist, equine specialist, and the herd
Assessment and evaluation tools to measure outcomes
Restorative practices that sustain both client growth and practitioner well-being
