This workshop is designed to introduce the core concepts behind EAP, benefits over traditional psychotherapeutic models, as well as demonstrating basic EAP activities with participants. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy creates a natural and non-threatening opportunity, especially for those new to or uncomfortable with traditional therapeutic settings, to identify negative patterns of behavior, and practice new functional ones.

Running with Mustangs : EACP with Court-Ordered Youth

Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc., is offering an educational workshop designed to increase effective treatment of this challenging population as well as introducing participants to the powerful modality of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy based on the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association’s (EAGALA) Model. Participants will learn to increase effective skillbuilding and identify key elements of a client's core belief system, which are essential in identifying and breaking through treatment resistance, as well as managing transference and counter transference.
