Sober Sense: Treating Addiction and EAP
Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc. is offering an educational workshop for professionals working in the field of addictions using the alternative model of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). EAP is a valid and reputable modality proven effective in the treatment of addictions. While participating in various experiential activities with horses, participants will recognize and address common issues challenging the addictive disorders through a solution-focused approach. Participants will develop the professional competence to help their clients practice new skill sets such as establishing healthy boundaries, assertiveness, and relapse prevention.

Objective(s):
Upon completion of this workshop the participant will:
•understand the application of the EAP model to the client with addictive behavior
•discover a solution-focused approach to treating common issues and behaviors related to addiction
•recognize the strengths of the client with addiction issues
•practice professional competence in educating the client on healthy skill sets
